Cookies

Cookie Policy

AvroChat uses very little browser storage, and we describe every category here. “Cookie” below also covers local storage and session storage, because that is what the product actually uses.

Essential cookies

These entries are required for the service to function and cannot be switched off without breaking it. They contain no advertising identifiers.

  • Authentication session — keeps a signed-in agent signed in and refreshes their session.
  • Widget visitor session — a generated identifier so a visitor's conversation survives a page reload.
  • Security tokens — short-lived signed grants that authorise a widget session for one website.
  • Inbox coordination — a browser entry that stops several open tabs playing the same notification sound.

Preference cookies

Preference storage remembers choices you make so you do not have to repeat them. It is written only after you make the choice.

  • Interface language selection.
  • Notification sound preferences and per-conversation mute state.
  • Widget open or minimised state on the visitor's device.

Analytics

We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking analytics on the AvroChat website. Operational measurement — error reports and aggregate product usage — is collected server-side and is not tied to an advertising profile.

If we later introduce a client-side analytics tool that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and list it in this section.

Marketing cookies

Not in use

AvroChat does not currently set marketing or retargeting cookies. We are listing the category here so this policy stays honest as the product grows.

If marketing cookies are introduced, we will publish the providers and purposes here, request consent before any non-essential cookie is written, and give you a way to withdraw that consent at any time.

Managing cookies

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site storage from its privacy settings. Blocking essential storage will sign you out and prevent the chat widget from keeping a conversation.

Visitors who chat on a customer's website should also read that business's own cookie notice, because they decide what else runs on their site. Questions about this policy: support@avrochat.com.
